Goodwood Moving Motor Show: (almost) an unqualified success

Fri, 02 Jul 2010

The Goodwood Moving Motor Show Yesterday we toddled along to Goodwood to see the set up for this year’s Festival of Speed and to have a look at the Moving Motor Show in action for the first time. We also – courtesy of Jaguar, who had invited us for the day – got an early drive up the hillclimb-based circuit that forms part of the Moving Motor Show’s appeal for the lucky ones who got the opportunity to take the wheel of one of the impressive bunch of cars on display. And it was an impressive bunch, with everything from the Toyota Auris Hybrid to the Rolls Royce Phantom DHC via the Audi R8 and the new Jaguar XJ on offer to drive.

Ferrari 365 GTB/4 For Sale. Driven by a Prince & a Hamster

Thu, 31 Mar 2011

The Ferrari 365 GTB/4 We have to confess that the Ferrari 365 GTB/4 – aka the Ferrari Daytona – is one of our favourite Ferraris. The Ferrari Daytona marked the start of the modern age of Ferrari for us; the end of the bulbous cars that went before and ended with the glorious 250 GTO, the Daytona was sleek and modern and as sexy as hell. Even those who don’t know one Ferrari from another would probably know the Daytona from its starring role in many a film – A Star is Born, The Long Goodbye, Gone in 60 Seconds and many more – or from the Miami Vice TV series (although that was a replica).

Swedish court rejects Saab creditor-protection plea; Saab will appeal

Thu, 08 Sep 2011

A Swedish court on Thursday rejected an application by ailing carmaker Saab for protection from creditors to give it breathing space to solve a cash crisis and get funds from Chinese investors. The Vanersborg district court in western Sweden said in a statement on its Web site that there was no reason to believe a new creditor protection process, known as a reconstruction, would work. Saab said in a statement that it is disappointed with the ruling and will appeal the decision.
