Umeå Institute of Design Degree Show 2008

Masters students at Sweden's Umeå University Institute of Design exhibited their final projects in the annual Degree Exhibition in early June. This year 38 students exhibited their work, including 7 from MA Transportation Design, 5 from MA Advanced Product Design, 6 from MA Interaction Design and a further 20 from the BA Industrial Design course. The MA Transportation Design programme is led by Tony Catignani, with Nick Coughlan as external tutor.

Kia will reveal the 2011 Magentis/Optima at the New York Motor Show in April Hot on the heels of the sketches we saw of the 2011 Kia Magentis just before the Geneva Motor Show, we now get a photo of Kia’s take on the Hyundai i40 (well, a CGI anyway). Which does seem a long lead time. We know that Kia intend to show the Magentis/Optima at the New York Motor Show next month, but we’re not expecting to see the Magentis in showrooms until 2011.

2014 Toyota Land Cruiser facelift details – costs from £34,995 The Land Cruiser can’t really offer car-like handling, but it has upped the stakes in the other departments with the arrival of a facelift for 2014. The 2014 Land Cruiser gets a new nose – the de rigueur facelift option – new headlights and running lights, new grill and bumper and round the back some new lights, all set-off by new alloys. Inside Toyopta has give the Land Cruiser a new set of switches for the drive modes, a new speedo and rev counter, a 4.2″ TFT screen, new wood and aluminium finishes and upgraded leather.
