McLaren MP4-12C Sets 7.28:00 at Nurburgring +video
Mon, 24 Oct 2011McLaren MP4-12C sets a time at the Nurburgring We’ve had a spate of claims for lap records at the Nurburgring by production cars, and the latest to play the game is the McLaren MP4-12C, with McLaren claiming a time of 7.28:00. EBay exotic: 1980 BMW M1

That's right--the original BMW supercar, one of 456 reportedly built. While the 277-hp straight-six may not sound too impressive today, keep in mind that the European Ferrari 308 only made about 250 hp at the time.
