Special Ford Mustang honors Iacocca's pony car
Mon, 22 Jun 2009Nearly 20 years after Lee Iacocca retired--and 45 years after he helped launch America's first pony car--the former Ford and Chrysler exec is attaching his visage to this: the Iacocca Silver 45th Anniversary Edition Ford Mustang. Planned for a limited run of only 45 units, the "I" edition features 5 hp more than stock from the Ford 4.6-liter V8; a 400-hp supercharged version is optional. Ford Racing suspension is standard, while 14-inch Ford Racing brakes are optional.
Citroen DS3 at Frankfurt
Mon, 24 Aug 2009Citroen will be bringing the new DS3 to Frankfurt The DS3 – a MINI competitor – is the first model in Citroen’s DS range, designed to be an upmarket range of cars based on their more prosaic ‘C’ siblings. We can expect to see the Citroen DS4 in 2011 and the bigger Citroen DS5 in 2012. The DS3 is based on the new Citroen C3 – which will itself only be launched in November – and is slightly larger all round than the MINI.
Will the Toyota Prius plug-in cost much the same as a normal Prius?
Mon, 19 Sep 2011Toyota Prius plug-in - only around £2.5k more than a regular Prius? Toyota has managed to corner the market in hybrid cars over the last decade after its remarkably prescient decision to focus on ‘Eco’ cars long before the mainstream cottoned on to the changing mood of governments – and car buyers – to the impact cars have on wallets and the environment. We won’t drag out our usual objections to the ceaseless quest for pointless ever-lower CO2 emissions, but we will instead commend the Prius for being a remarkable transport appliance, one which – if driven in a certain manner – can produce remarkable feats of economy and emit pleasingly low levels of the stuff that does real harm – NOx and Particulates.
