Aston V12 Zagato confirmed for production in 2012
Fri, 08 Jul 2011Aston Martin has confirmed production of the V12 Zagato – yours for £330,000, plus local taxes. It will build just 150 examples will be hand-built at Gaydon, with first deliveries expected in summer 2012. An aluminium and carbonfibre body is designed to echo the 1960 DB4 GT Zagato.

Administrator PKF (UK) LLP has spent the past month clarifying the assets of Blackpool Automotive Ltd, the company that ran the Blackpool factory, and it in fact holds several trump cards that could prevent the Russian owner switching production overseas. The sale advert in the Financial Times reveals that Blackpool Automotive controls the TVR trademark in Europe and the US, as well as all the intellectual property rights and tooling for the sports cars.

It’s understandable if you have genuine concerns about the credentials of a party to the deal, but taking Vlad out of the equation was an accident waiting to happen. Without Vlad there was no financial safety net for Saab.
