Redesigned Ford Focus expected to get 40 mpg on the highway
Wed, 20 Oct 2010The redesigned 2012 Ford Focus will get an estimated 40 mpg in highway driving with an all-aluminum 2.0-liter engine mated to a six-speed, dual-dry-clutch automatic transmission. The normally aspirated engine combines variable camshaft timing and high-pressure direct fuel injection to crank out 160 hp and 146 lb-ft of torque. That compares with 140 hp and 136 lb-ft from the aluminum 2.0-liter engine used in the current-generation Focus.
Stolen, chopped Ford GT is the saddest thing you'll see all day
Wed, 29 Aug 2012The Ford GT is one of the best American sports cars in ages, and also one of the most desirable. No, the Ford GT didn't make the list of “most stolen vehicles,” but that doesn't make it immune from theft, as this report from U-T San Diego makes painfully clear. Case in point: These remains of a 2005 Ford GT that was stolen in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.
Lamborghini Egoista revealed at Lamborghini’s 50th Anniversary celebrations UPDATED
Sun, 12 May 2013The Lamborghini Egoista (which translate as the Lamborghini ‘Selfish’) gets its name because it is designed as a single seater, purely for the pleasure of the driver. Designed by Walter De Silva, the Egoista sports dramatic styling that is said to be inspired by the Apache helicopter (and isn’t entirely successful – the Apache looks better) and extensively uses carbon fibre with a canopy that can be removed for real single-seat fresh air thrills. Power comes from the Gallardo’s 5.2 litre V10, although so far all Lamborghini has done is release a single photo of the Egoista (above), so we don’t yet know whether the Egoista will be a one-off special like the Aventador J, a short run at silly prices like the Veneno or just a concept that will never see the light of day again.
