The Battery

This battery is a reconditioned Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) pack from a 2004 Honda Civic Hybrid. It will fit the years 03 and 05 Civic also. We drove about 500 miles using this battery to test it prior to sale. The Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) and/or check engine light did NOT come on. It got 39 MPG average, the exact amount depending on environmental and road conditions. The following chart demonstrates its performance.

Battery Capacity

A hybrid battery is reconditioned using one or a series of special charge/discharge cycles. This process increases the capacity of the individual sticks by reducing "memory". It also balances the sticks so that they draw and produce current equally. These batteries do not perform as well as remanufactured batteries but they will remove any battery integrated motor assist diagnostic codes. They are about half to a third of the price of a remanufactured battery. Note that many of the sellers are passing off reconditioned batteries as remanufactured ones. Read the ads carefully.

One of the best ways of knowing whether a battery is well balanced is to check the Tap Voltages at various points during the charge-discharge process. The lower the standard deviation and spread of the measurement points the better. A spread of 0.20 volts is considered excellent. As can be seen on the above graph this battery's voltage spread post charge was 0.11 volts. This is excellent as it is well below the 0.20 mark.

In either case the original battery must be returned at the buyers expense unless it is demonstrated that the battery was defective upon arrival. We do not warranty batteries that are damaged by UPS during shipping but we ship them fully insured and packed by UPS. The LP720-4 50 Anniversario comes in an eye-catching bright yellow - Giallo Maggio – with a black aerodynamic package to contrast that includes a new front apron, diffuser and skirts.

This time it’s the rebirth of MG, now in Chinese hands and back from a near-death experience since MG Rover collapsed in April 2005. Nanjing Automobile Corporation (NAC) is the oldest car maker in China and paid £50 million to snap up the MG brand and manufacturing rights, but can it really stand a chance with its new English project?  The Chinese manufacturer is reviving the MG brand and, in Europe, the first model on sale will be the revised TF roadster on sale around September 2007.
