Ferrari shows next Enzo's HY-KERS V12 at Beijing

Ferrari stole a surprise march at the 2012 Beijing auto show when it announced a few details about its forthcoming Enzo successor. The powertrain you see here is essentially the hybrid supercar architecture which'll underpin the new hypercar being readied for launch later in 2012. Ferrari chief Amadeo Felisa told CAR the electric powertrain would lop 10% off the 0-124mph time - and its V12 is related to that in the F12, but with more power and 40% lower CO2 emissions.

The EX30d gets the same diesel engine as the FX30d, namely a 3.0 litre V6 with graphite iron block (all the better for saving weight and adding smoothness) delivering 235bhp which – in the smaller EX30d – is sufficient to get to 60mph in 7.7 seconds and return 33.2mpg. One in six drivers 'top 100mph'

ONE IN SIX (17%) of drivers admits to driving at more than 100mph on the motorway regularly in the UK, even though the speed limit is 70mph. More than twice that number (38%) own up to driving at above 90mph, while 11% say they speed at 50mph or more in residential and urban areas where there is a 30mph speed limit. Research by Direct Line shows 61% of drivers have also exceeded the 20mph limit.
