Opel Corsa
Mon, 22 May 2006Opel has released pictures of the new Corsa, which will make its debut in July at the British Motor Show. Sharing its platform with the Fiat Grande Punto, styling is closer to the larger Astra with dynamic cab-forward proportions. Aided by the strong chin, an additional pane in the side-glass also enables a more forward-reaching profile - as chief designer Niels Loeb said "this is just what we wanted the coupe-like three-door Corsa to be." Inside, the IP neatly evolves themes from the outgoing model, with cues also shared with the new Antara SUV.
The 500-hp club
Thu, 30 May 2013Petrol heads, continue to rejoice: Car manufacturers have not ignored your cries for high-powered cars and trucks. Despite tightening emissions regulations and rising fuel costs, automakers are building an increasing number of vehicles putting out at least 500 horses. Based on our research, there are over 80 cars sold in the United States that deliver these burnout-inducing numbers (not including tuners such as Mosler or Callaway).
Land Rover DC100 concept
Wed, 31 Aug 2011Land Rover's new DC100 concept vehicle is due to make its debut at the 2011 Frankfurt motor show, with the manufacturer also confirming that a new Defender is anticipated for 2015. The DC100 concept will be building upon the existing characteristics of the car and it is hoped that the concept will act as a catalyst for debate concerning the future of Defender models. The design team is headed by Gerry McGovern, Land Rover's director of design, who says, "This isn't a production-ready concept but the beginning of a four-year journey to design a relevant Defender for the 21st century." John Edwards, global brand director at Land Rover, explains that the manufacturer wants to engage with existing customers to finalise the details of the new vehicle as part of their plans to direct the future of the Defender.
