Infiniti and Formula One driver Sebastian Vettel collaborate for Frankfurt
Fri, 26 Aug 2011Getting extra press is just one of the benefits of having defending Formula One World Champion driver Sebastian Vettel as a company ambassador. The other is the chance to sell cars with Vettel's name attached. Infiniti has been a partner with Vettel since it signed on as a sponsor of the Red Bull Racing team at the start of this year's F1 season.
Lewis Hamilton takes pole at British Grand Prix – Mercedes front row
Sat, 29 Jun 2013Lewis Hamilton & Nico Rosberg (pictured) celebrate their front row at the British Grand Prix Mercedes may have turned in some stunning qualifying laps this year (although their race performance hasn’t really matched up) but Hamilton’s pole at the 2013 British Grand Prix was a stunner – almost half a second (0.452s) ahead of team mate Nico Rosberg. The pole for Hamilton – his first since the Chinese Grand Prix – was a corker (as was Rosberg’s, to be fair) and left the Red Bulls relegated to the second row with Vettel in third and the newly ‘retired’ Mark Webber in fourth. But whether the stunning lap by Hamilton presages an impossible task for Red Bull tomorrow, we’ll have to wait and see.
Land Rover Discovery Sport
Wed, 03 Sep 2014With the launch of the Evoque, Range Rover and Range Rover Sports, Land Rover has sufficiently bolstered its range of high-profit 'luxury' family of vehicles. Now, the Discovery Sport has been unveiled as the first of its renewed 'leisure' models. As these pictures show, the boundaries between the luxury and leisure ranges lie pretty close together, with the new Sport drawing heavily on the Evoque's design themes: a few degrees of approach angle are traded for rounder, far-less utilitarian bumpers; the character lines are more deeply cut into the bodysides and rise more steeply, and the C- and D-pillars are much faster than the outgoing Freelander/LR2's.
