Don’t text and drive says Volkswagen – very effectively (video)
Sat, 14 Jun 2014Cinema goers in for a shock in VW’s don’t text and drive campaign We’re not the biggest fans of putting drivers in a bubble of concentration behind the wheel, which is what law makers seem to be trying to do. Don’t take a sip from that water bottle, don’t change the channel on the radio, don’t have a conversation with your passengers, don’t smoke, don’t take hands-free phone calls – in fact, don’t do anything but drive. Earlier this month we had a video of the 1M Coupe playing ‘Hole in the Wall’ on a desert road with concrete blocks with 1m Coupe cut-outs. All CGI, but very entertaining nonetheless.

While comprehensive driving impressions will have to wait for a longer test, we were able to get some quick impressions of the new BMW hybrid at the company's New Jersey headquarters. The X5 eDrive made short work of the hills and curves around BMW's campus, with all mechanical systems working pretty seamlessly.
