Rare find!  Setting up some punched automotive catalogs in binders, I stumbled across several collectible Honda Motorcycle / Power Products manuals!  How about a Honda Code (HC) 31815 Motorcycle Carburetor Parts Manual!  Printing Date is March, 1973, therefore only Honda motorcycles previous to that date are included...  No Gold Wings, CBXs, XLs, etc., too new!!  No Benly Tourings, CB160s, CA/CB/72/77s, etc., discontinued models..  Too old!!  Only units that were not discontinued on March 1973 are covered.  I used to be affiliated with a Honda Motorcycle Franchise and collected a lot of items.  Paper Manuals (pre microfiche) could be ordered, and were often ordered by mistake simply by trans-posing a few digits of the Honda Code.  Maybe that is what happened, and I wound up with 3 copies of the carburetor  manual.  Manuals are "Not" punched for the special 7 ring Honda binder.  They are "Not" punched with any holes (but you can see the artifacts of the un-punched holes in the manual page margins) !  Manuals may be (don't really know) reproduced (although appear to be very high quality) from the original Honda Motorcycle Carburetor Sets Parts Catalog.  Manuals are new and unsoiled, in individual zip lock bags, all new, not yellowed, stored in a smoke free, pet free home for the last 35 Years!  This would be a great find for the end user to verify part numbers, assembly sequences, etc.  Remember to bid high and bid often!

New Range Rover Hybrid targeted at Europe: Frankfurt 2013

Wed, 11 Sep 2013

The new Range Rover Hybrid (pictured) has diesel power to target Europe It’s not the biggest news at Frankfurt, but the arrival of the Range Rover Hybrid and Range Rover Sport Hybrid is big news for Land Rover, and for buyers running cars who are subject to taxation on benefits. Surprisingly, Land Rover has gone the diesel route with the hybrid, coupling the 3.0 litre diesel engine to a 46bhp electric motor which, when working together, offers the same sort of performance as the V8 diesel engine but with much better economy and emissions – 44mpg and 169g/km. Logic would perhaps have dictated that the new hybrid should have a petrol engine, rather than a diesel, as the biggest hybrid markets in the world – the US and China – have no real appetite for diesel engines.

‘Fire up the Quattro!’ – Gene Hunt’s Audi for sale

Mon, 10 Feb 2014

IT WAS the only thing that could rival tough-talking DCI Gene Hunt for on-screen presence – and now the famous red Audi Quattro is up for sale. The hit TV show Ashes to Ashes saw Philip Glennister reprise his role as Hunt opposite Keeley Hawes as Alex Drake, but for many it was the iconic 1981 Audi that stole the show. This particular example was bought by a prop supply company for the second and third series of Ashes to Ashes, and featured in all sixteen episodes before meeting a spectacular end by being riddled with bullet holes.

BMW seared into consumer minds: New ad technology takes ‘branding' to another level

Wed, 22 Dec 2010

How about this for subtlety in advertising? BMW is using flashing lights to “burn” its initials into your brain so that when you close your eyes, you'll continue to see the Bavarian company's brand. Which begs the question: Is there a better way to remember a company than to have a light-induced seizure episode?
