CCS receives $2.5m GM Grant

General Motors is set to strengthen its longstanding commitment to Detroit's College for Creative Studies with a $2.5 million donation, a contribution that will help the university undertake a $145 million redevelopment of its A. Alfred Taubman Center for Design Education. This is not the first time that GM has given to CCS – the ongoing relationship between them sees members of the GM design team teach and mentor students, while CCS also receives loans of industrial equipment from its Detroit neighbor.

Classic Lotus Cortina owner wins £5,000 fund

A LUCKY Lotus Cortina owner has won a £5,000 prize to make improvements and restorations to his car. Pete Shaw was awarded the prize by Footman James classic car insurance at last month’s Classic Motor Show. His beloved 1966 Mk1 Airflow Lotus Cortina had been entered into the competition with much-needed work on the cards.

Production Lexus NX teased ahead of Beijing 2014 There were at least a couple of outings for the Lexus LF-NX Concept last year – the Lexus take on a more compact SUV come Crossover to sit below the Lexus RX – which made it all but certain a production version wouldn’t be far behind. And it’s not. Lexus has revealed a single photo (above) this morning to announce that a production version of the LF-NX – the Lexus NX – is heading for a debut at this month’s Beijing Motor Show.
