DVLA clamps down on illegal foreign cars

Cars can legally be used on British roads with foreign plates for a maximum of six months before they need to display a UK registration. WORK has begun to install new safety measures on one of Scotland's most notorious roads, as construction has started on an average speed camera system on the A9 between Perth and Inverness. The A9 is regarded as one of the country's most dangerous roads, with fatal and serious road accidents on the single carriageway between Perth and Inverness significantly higher than the national average. The system is one of a number of measures that have been promoted by the A9 Safety Group in a bid to improve safety in recent years.

Chevrolet Bids Farewell To Europe

AMERICAN car giant General Motors has made a surprise announcement that from 2016 its Chevrolet brand will be no more in Europe. The company has stated that it wishes to concentrate on long established brands Opel and Vauxhall instead. All is not lost, as GM will keep what it says is its ‘iconic’ models such as the Corvette, while the firm intends to focus attention on its traditional American luxury brand Cadillac ahead of a greater European push in the next few years.
