Is Chrysler still American? Yes, it is
Mon, 17 Mar 2014Last week, we mentioned that the Secret Service was soliciting bids for a new presidential limousine. Among the criteria for a replacement for "The Beast" was the following: "This solicitation is restricted to Major Domestic U.S Automobile Manufacturers, who have their primary headquarters located in the United States of America." Geneva Show 2014: Renegade Is Anything But Rough And Ready
Wed, 05 Mar 2014DON’T be put off by the size of Jeep’s latest offering, as its new Renegade might be small but it’s claimed to be just as capable as its larger stablemates. With Jeep now part of the Fiat family, it’s no surprise to learn that the Renegade is based on the Italian firm’s 500L. The diminutive Renegade is, however, expected to remain true to the Jeep brand thanks to off-road versions complete with all-wheel drive, skid plates and raised ride height.
Porsche Cayman Shooting Brake Fake +video
Thu, 13 Aug 2009The fake Porsche Cayman Shooting Brake - rendered in Maya Turns out that it was all a bit of viral fun created by Jared Holstein, the outgoing editor of TopGear.com. He came up with the idea and got a bunch of Summer Interns in the States to do the donkey work. A digital design student called Matt DuVall used Maya (a digital 3D rendering programme) to create the original image (actually, I’ve been trying to master Maya for ever – must get some tips from Matt!) which incorporated lots of Porsche design themes, and even used a Porsche ‘Mule’ license plate.
