CAR Magazine scoops Britain's top design prize

By Tim Pollard Motor Industry 16 May 2007 09:33 CAR Magazine's design team has won the top accolade at the UK industry's oscars - the Periodical Publishers Association's Designer of the Year gong. Andy Thomas, who led last year's redesign of CAR with art editor Andy Franklin, collected the prize at the magazine industry's annual ceremony in the Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane, London. CAR is no stranger to the PPA's top design silverware - we won the same award two years ago.

Range Rover Sport ploughs into basement flat

This supercharged Range Rover Sport found itself stuck between a brick and a hard place when it crashed into a basement flat in Fitzrovia, central London. The driver, who was unhurt in this week's accident, unintentionally tested the Range Rover's off-road credentials in a freak incident, which left the 2.5-tonne SUV stuck between a house wall and some railings in the posh London street. Black Widow Corvette Stingray debuts in Chicago

The sinister Black Widow Corvette Stingray made an appearance at the Chicago Auto Show on Wednesday. The triple black 'Vette will be featured in the next Marvel comic movie “Captain America: Winter Soldier.” The Black Widow is one of 15 Stingrays being displayed at the show. Black Widow, “real” name Natasha Romanova, is a member of the Avengers comic superhero team.
