New Porsche 911 Carrera S quicker than a 997 GT3
Wed, 21 Sep 2011New Porsche 911 - 13 seconds quicker round the Nurburgring than the old 911 Porsche had something of a spat recently with the Nissan GT-R, with both parties keen to show their car was the quickest. But Porsche has now got over that ‘I’ve got the biggest’ mentality, and are now keener to show how far their current crop of cars has come. Like the new 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S.
Mercedes SLS AMG: F1 Safety Car 2010
Sat, 27 Feb 2010The Mercedes SLS AMG will be the F1 safety car in 2010 The new F1 season is close to kicking off, and we’ll get round to doing a preview of what’s happening at the start of the 2010 season once we’ve got Geneva out of the way (at least the first bit of Geneva - the F1 season starts on 14th March in Bahrain so we’ll need to get round to it before then). But one bit of news that isn’t team or driver related is the announcement that the safety car for 2010 will be the Mercedes SLS AMG, replacing the car that’s done the job for the last two years – the Mercedes SL63 AMG. Surprisingly, the SLS AMG is the most powerful car ever to be used as a safety car in F1.
New Volvo C30 R-design (2010) revealed
Mon, 14 Sep 2009Volvo is launching an R-design version of the new C30 The R-Design body kit on the C30 is painted in the same colour as the car for a seamless integration, and the visual illusion that the C30 is actually much lower tha the 10mm suspension drop. Five-spoke Cactus alloys are fitted, and the interior gets new upholstery. Just a shame there are no power upgrades.
