Next generation MINI Countryman to arrive in 2016
Fri, 31 Jan 2014The next generation MINI Countryman to arrive in 2016 (current model pictured) We’ve recently had the arrival of the all new MINI, and the next year or so will see the roll-out of a succession of takes on the new MINI. But that process of building a MINI for every possible niche won’t complete until the MINI Countryman (and its coupe sibling, the MINI Paceman) are replaced. That now looks likely to happen in 2016 as, according to Automotive News, BMW is to end production of the MINI Countryman and Paceman at Magna Steyr in Austria in 2016 and move production of the Countryman and Paceman to Oxford and the new MINI Plant in the Netherlands.

Jaguar Land Rover has revived sales across both the Jaguar and Land Rover ranges, but it’s Land Rover that’s driving sales – particularly with the new Evoque. JLR are seeking to emulate the enormous success the Evoque is enjoying at Land Rover by launching the new F-Type at Jaguar, and are planning to invest £200 million expanding the Castle Bromwich plant to make sure the Jaguar F-Type doesn’t suffer production problems.
BMW 0 Series revealed? +video
Sat, 26 Jun 2010Is this the BMW 0 Series? If BMW are going to go further downmarket in their quest for more sales – which we know they are with their plans for front wheel drive BMWs – then short of a sub-brand marque (entirely possible some will wear the Isetta or i-setta badge) then the only number we have to play with is a big, fat 0. It seems daft to give a BMW a leading 0 and its own series, but it certainly looks to be under consideration.
