Chris Bangle resigns as BMW Group Design Director
Tue, 03 Feb 2009BMW today announced that Chris Bangle is resigning from his position as Head of Design for the BMW Group. Bangle will be handing over his post to current Head of BMW Automobile Design, Adrian van Hooydonk, when he leaves the company to pursue his own design-related endeavors outside the auto industry. Bangle has worked closely with van Hooydonk at BMW Group Design Development for nearly 17 years.

Instead, it will focus on a bigger, Mercedes R-class challenger, due in 2009. The Jaguar Platinum Coverage program is a 5-year/50,000 mile new vehicle warranty with free scheduled maintenance, no-cost replacement of major wear-and-tear parts and 24/7 roadside assistance. Unlike Jaguar's previous free maintenance program, there is no cost for oil changes, filters, brake pads, brake discs, brake fluids and wiper blade inserts.
