Build Performance 4.6 & 5.4 Liter Ford Engines Build Performance 4.6 & 5.4 Liter Ford Engines
by Sean Hyland
When the ’96 Mustang came out with the 4.6 liter V-8, some
performance enthusiasts were scared away by its technology.
But those days are long gone. Ford added horsepower and
torque to its 2 and 4 valve V-8s over the years, and the
number and quality of available aftermarket performance
parts has exploded. Ford took things to the next level with
the new 3-valve Mustang GT engine, the 5.4-liter GT and
Shelby GT500, adding even more high- performance options.
In this book Sean Hyland gives you a comprehensive guide to
building and modifying Ford’s 2, 3, and 4 valve 4.6 and 5.4
liter engines. You will learn everything from block selection,
crankshaft prep, cylinder heads and intake manifold
modifications. Also included is eight recommended power
packages and a step by step buildup of a naturally aspirated
405 horsepower Cobra engine. This is the definitive guide to
getting the most from your 4.6 and 5.4 liter Ford.

Mazda RX-8 facelift (2008): first official pictures

Sun, 13 Jan 2008

By Ben Pulman First Official Pictures 13 January 2008 10:47 Mazda’s facelifted RX-8 arrived at the Detroit Motor Show, and it’s more of a mild nip and tuck than a drastic overhaul. Mazda hasn’t suddenly dropped in a V6 or anything like that – so far over 165,000 rotary-engined RX-8s have been sold and Mazda doesn’t want to mess with a recipe that works. That means it’s still a four-door, four seater with 'Freestyle' (suicide to you and me) doors, and a unchanged 1.3-litre turbine engine available in 189bhp and 228bhp states of tune.
