Porsche 911 (991)
Thu, 18 Aug 2011The release of a new generation of the Porsche 911 is always a major motoring event and the launch of the latest – the 991, which will make its debut in Frankfurt next month – appears to be the most significant since the icon switched to water cooling with the 996 in 1998. While quite obviously an evolution of the 997 and every version prior, the 991 is longer (+56mm), wider (+65mm) and lower (-11mm) than its predecessor, while the wheelbase has been extended in order to increase rear leg room and move the model further into the GT segment. Its front lamp graphics offer a visual link to the 918 concept car and sit above a set of angular DRL/turn signal units and enlarged lower mask intakes.
Audi Q3
Wed, 13 Apr 2011Shanghai will see the latest model unveiled from Audi, the Q3. Offered as a 'premium SUV in compact form', the Q3 adheres to Audi's standards of engineering and build quality and slots beneath its larger brothers to offer an alternative to BMW's X1 model. This expansion of Audi's SUV range clearly draws from its bigger siblings.
Goodwood Revival
Thu, 19 Jul 2007By Ben Whitworth Motor Shows 19 July 2007 02:30 The tenth Goodwood Revival, held this year from 31 August to 2 September, looks set to once again establish itself as the world’s finest historic motor racing event. The world’s only sporting event set entirely to a period theme – no vehicles produced after 1966 are allowed on the circuit and its environs throughout the weekend – this year’s Revival will be bigger and better than before, according to Lord March. “The Revival is arguably the most popular historic motor racing event in the world,” Lord March told CAR Online.
