Fifth Gear tonight sees Jonny learning to drift, Vicki out at the Ferrari world record gathering, Jason with the new Mercedes SL and Tiff on Nitrogen in tyres. Our weekly preview of what’s on Fifth Gear continues with news of what Fifth Gear has on offer tonight, 11th March 2013. Jonny turns in to Tiff Needell tonight as he learns how to Drift cars – in this case a a specially modified BMW M5 – ahead of competing in the famous Gatebil show in Norway, with tuition from 2011 British drift Champion Mark Carter.

VW Passat CC R-Line Launches

The new VW Passat CC R-Line So far VW has managed to add an R-Line model to the Golf, Scirocco, Touran, Tiguan, Passat Variant and Touareg and of course to the regular Passat offerings with the Passat R-Line being introduced on the saloon and Estate back in May. And now we get the VW Passat CC R-Line. Sadly – as with all recent R-Line offerings – we’re not getting power improvements but just a cosmetic job.

Subaru XV Black Limited Edition: Costs from £24,495

The Subaru XV Black Limited Edition Subaru launched their XV SUV – basically a high-riding Crossover Impreza – back in 2012, and it was a decent offering. But by this summer they were looking to add a bit more fizz to sales and decided there was room to make substantial cuts in the list price of the XV, taking it down by a significant £2300 right across the range. Now, with prices cut back and the XV starting from £18,995, it seems Subaru has decided it’s time to shift some more expensive metal, so we’ve got the Subaru XV Black Limited Edition which adds more kit and style and starts at £24,495.
