Mercedes-Benz has big plans for small cars
Mon, 31 Jan 2011Breaking outside its American position of rear-wheel-drive luxury vehicles, Mercedes-Benz will launch its new front-wheel-drive architecture in the United States in the next three years in the form of a coupe, SUV and possibly a small wagon or compact hatchback. Joachim Schmidt, Mercedes' global sales and marketing boss, said Mercedes is developing at least four models based on its MFA, or Mercedes Front-wheel-drive Architecture. "We will introduce the next generation of our MFA family to the U.S.," Schmidt said in an interview.
Ford Ranger
Tue, 19 Apr 2011This week, away from the glitz and glamour of both the Shanghai and New York International Auto Shows, will be the 2011 Commercial Vehicle Show held in Birmingham, UK. Nether the less, Ford has taken the opportunity to use the show to launch the all-new Ranger truck. New from the ground up, the Ranger is said to retain its 'ruggedness' but now with added performance and economy.
SsangYong SIV-1 Concept heading for Geneva
Mon, 11 Feb 2013Another new SsangYong Concept – the SsangYong SIV-1 – is heading for Geneva 2013 to join the new Rodius debut. SsangYong are heading to the 2013 Geneva Motor Show with a new version of the Rodius, which we’re hoping (although not with too much confidence) will be a big improvement on the very challenging looks of the current car. The hope that SsangYong will manage to deliver a Rodius that doesn’t frighten small children is boosted today with the first photos of a new concept from the Indian-owned Korean car maker – the SsangYong SIV-1 Concept (pictured above) – which will arrive at Geneva alongside the new Rodius.
