You simply plug the Power Programmer into the underdash diagnostic plug, answer a series of "Yes/No" questions, and the Power Programmer III does the rest. The Power Programmer III is more than a tuning chip - it is a self-contained automotive tuning computer.

  • 1998-99 GM 4.3L, 5.0L, 5.7L, and 7.4L engines with any transmission.
Features:
  • Tunes the engine for maximum power and performance, plus potential gas mileage improvements.
  • Special Three-Stage Tuning for Select Vehicles.
  • Lets you choose optimized tuning for 87 octane or 93 octane fuel.
  • Extends the engine's RPM range for a wider power band.
  • Permits use of low-temperature thermostat for cooler, denser intake charge and lower engine operating temperature.
  • Optimizes shift points by speed and RPM for maximum acceleration.
  • Firmer full-throttle gear changes for faster acceleration.
  • Allows the vehicle's top speed to be matched to the speed rating of factory-approved high-performance tires.
  • Automatically corrects speedometer and odometer readings for non-stock tire sizes and/or non-stock rear-end gear ratios (accurate odometer readings are required by law).

The Frankfurt motor show 2009 review, by Ben Oliver

Wed, 16 Sep 2009

But Frankfurt, like every other motor show, finds itself in reduced circumstances this year.  The Paris and Frankurt shows alternate, and the comparison with Paris this time last year is instructive.

With the Tesla Roadster at the end of its life, and then Model S Saloon about to hit the road (probably), Tesla are moving on to the next instalment of their electric car pilgrimage - the Tesla Model X. We had expected the Model X – which is based on the same underpinnings as the Model S Saloon – to debut by the end of 2011.
