Lexus has revealed prices for its new CT200h - and they're pretty punchy. The base CT200h clocks in at £23,485, rising to a startling £30,635 for the SE-L Premier. Lexus says it's the first sporty hybrid, but can the new CT really woo drivers out of their cheaper Audis and BMWs? The CT200h is aimed squarely at the A3 and 1-series, but comes with just one drivetrain for now. The Lexus uses Prius hardware, so there's a 1.8-litre petrol mated to an electric motor to produce 134bhp - enough for the 1420kg CT200h to hit 62mph in 10.3sec.

The Group's Czech arm is showing a new concept dubbed the Fabia vRS 2000, which has been specifically developed and built for the event. Drawing on the Fabia Super 2000 rally car, Skoda's designers have created an original roadster pursuing a single goal: dynamism and the joy of sporty driving.

Associated Press As the government plans a 60mph limit on a 32-mile section of the M1, Britain's speed limits are under the spotlight as never before. The lower limit was announced this week as part of a project to improve air quality in Derbyshire and Yorkshire. If approved, drivers will not be able to exceed 60mph between junctions 28 and 35a between 7am and 7pm.
