Lamborghini sets record with 10,000th Gallardo

Lamborghini has achieved a production record by producing its 10,000th Gallardo--a number the Italian automaker has never before accomplished with another model. Before being delivered to its owner, the 10,000th Gallardo will be displayed in Shanghai during Lamborghini Day on June 25. “Production of car number 10,000 is a very important milestone for Lamborghini,” said Stephan Winkelmann, president and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini.

Ferrari salutes Sergio Pininfarina

Ferrari has a singular identity, but the look, the image and the attitude were crafted, elevated and carefully honed largely by another superlative Italian company—Pininfarina. Mindful of this, the Prancing Horse paid tribute to longtime Pininfarina chairman Sergio Pininfarina, who died on July 2 at the age of 85. “Calling his relation with Ferrari legendary is insufficient,” Ferrari chairman Luca di Montezemolo said in a statement.

We have video of the 2013 Opel / Vauxhall Astra Cabriolet on video ahead of its debut at the Paris Motor Show. We’re guessing that even though the 2013 Astra Cabriolet (which will arrive as both the Vauxhall and Opel Cabrio) is due to debut at the Paris Motor Show next month, it won’t be in showrooms until the spring – just in time for another miserable summer.
