The ICON 58560 Upper Control Arm kit for the 2007+ Toyota Tundra are built to provide added strength and to help correct alignment geometry on lifted applications. When using adjustable height coil overs, a Bilstein Adjustable Lift Height Shock, or spacer style lifts there is a reduction in caster and a change in camber. The Tundra needs the correct amount of caster and camber to handle properly and the design of the ICON upper arm takes this into consideration. ICON designed their upper arm kit to INCREASE the amount of caster and at the same time provide more negative camber. This design will help keep the front end aligned in the middle of the factory specifications which helps to provide better handling, a reduction in wandering, and better tire wear. Please note however that this upper control arm should not be used on stock height models. Use of this upper control arm kit on a stock height Tundra will result in too much negative camber as the ICON upper control arm is shorter than the factory arm. Porsche Panamera diesel owners can boost the fun with TechArt power upgrade
Fri, 06 Jul 2012The German Porsche tuning haus TechArt revealed a power-upgrade kit for the Porsche Panamera diesel. While the 30-hp bump from the stock 250 horses to 280 won't light the world on fire, the 37-lb-ft jump in torque, from 405 lb-ft to 442 lb-ft, is sure to be a kick in the pants. The 0-to-60-mph time drops by 0.1 second from stock to 6.6 seconds, but the top end is up 3 mph to 153 mph.
Record breaking Bluebird reunited with nose
Fri, 13 Dec 2013WORLD LAND SPEED RECORD holder Sir Malcolm Campbell’s Bluebird CN7 car has been reunited with its original nose. The car’s original nose was damaged and then kept in Coventry since 1960, but it has now been brought back to the car that lives at the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, Hampshire. Damaged during a World Land Speed Record attempt on the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, USA, the nose of the car was sent back to Coventry for repairs and an updated design to help make the car more stable at very high speeds.
Ford announces electric car plans at the Detroit auto show
Sun, 11 Jan 2009Not to be left out of the electric car party, Ford announced Sunday at the Detroit Auto Show that it was developing a line of electric powered vehicles. In addition to its already announced hybrids and plug-in hybrids, Ford is working with Magna International to bring fully electric cars to market with lithium-ion battery packs. In the works is a Focus and Fusion-based vehicles that will be available in with all three powertrains.
