Icon Raiden DKR Boots

Icon went back to the drawing board and pulled out all the stops when designing the Icon Raiden DKR Boots. When adventure calls you need a boot that can handle varying terrain and heavy gear-laden bikes yet be comfortable enough to wear days on end. These boots are the swiss army knife your feet need to survive. The sleek profile, based on GP boots, is mated to an athletic EVA/rubber bottom unit. This combination provides excellent control and feedback while providing all-day walkability for the dismounted rider. The hinged shin plate is backed with a D3O insert for true riding coverage. Dual straps and full rear-entry zip make the Icon DKR Boot very easy to get on and off. Finally, the entire boot has been engineered to meet the requirements of European testing standard EN 13634:2010, including the optional waterproof requirement.

Features:

  • Leather chassis
  • Insulated and waterproof internal liner
  • Dual hinged shin plate with D3O insert
  • Toe, ankle, and heel protectors
  • Metal buckles
  • Rear entry zipper with gusset
  • Stretch Cordura panels

Next generation BMW 6 Series Preview

Thu, 26 Feb 2009

Rendering of the next generation (2010) BMW 6 Series - a sleeker and lower car than the current generation Not due until late 2010, the next generation 6 Series looks set to be a lower, sleeker car than the current model. In fact, it looks like BMW may have found a use for a lot of the work they did on the shelved BMW CS project, which was to be BMW’s A7/CLS challenger until the project was shelved a few months ago. Current opinion is that the next generation Convertible will stick with the rag-top, but recent spy shots seem to show a pretty bulky roof camouflage, leading to speculation that BMW may go the folding tin-top roof with the next generation 6-series.

Record breaking Bluebird reunited with nose

Fri, 13 Dec 2013

WORLD LAND SPEED RECORD holder Sir Malcolm Campbell’s Bluebird CN7 car has been reunited with its original nose. The car’s original nose was damaged and then kept in Coventry since 1960, but it has now been brought back to the car that lives at the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, Hampshire. Damaged during a World Land Speed Record attempt on the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, USA, the nose of the car was sent back to Coventry for repairs and an updated design to help make the car more stable at very high speeds.

Five reasons to celebrate the end of the paper UK driving licence

Tue, 12 Aug 2014

From January 2015 Britain’s much-derided paper counterpart driving licence is being phased out. This is A Good Thing, ending an annoying bi-partite arrangement that’s blighted drivers’ pockets for 16 years. Driving licences have been with us since 1903, when they were first mandated – but the current, annoyingly two-part licences have been in use since 1998, with a bank card-sized photocard accompanied by a printed sheet of A4.
