Icon once said that 'their crashes’ were violent street episodes. And that is God’s honest truth. Vicious tumbling encounters across two lanes of coarse asphalt. Icon knows the pain of the street crash first hand. That is the driving reason behind the creation of their Field Armor Stryker series. The Stryker series contains elements of CE certified Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The CE certified PPE conforms to defined European motorcycle safety standards for specified impact protection. While no PPE, no matter how extensive, can offer full protection against injury or death, the Field Armor Styrker PPE can help sway the outcome in your favor. Accept that you will crash and then outfit yourself accordingly. With a silhouette that broke with the conventional race derivative dogma and struck out on its own street specific course, The Field Armor Stryker vest is at the very heart of the Icon creed. Features a low profile back armor with high profile design for tactical riding. The original Field Armor vest set a benchmark in the back protector world - the Stryker ups the ante. The back protector is loaded with d3o intelligent foam and full CE approval. The Field Armor Stryker Vest back armor is designed to take hits you hope will never come. Rock it under your jacket or over a hoody - just wear it. If today is the day that you go down, you want Stryker on your back. Features:
D3O® Intelligent Shock Absorption™ is a patented, shock absorbing material, engineered with Intelligent Molecules that flow with you as you move, but lock together on shock to absorb the impact energy. D3O® is rate sensitive, meaning that when moved slowly, the molecules flow freely, making it soft and flexible. At high speeds however–like in an impact–the molecules lock together, making the material an excellent shock absorber. The whole process occurs instantly, returns to its original state as soon as the impact is over, and is repeatable. These qualities make it perfect for any application where you need total freedom of movement and excellent shock absorption. D3O™ is also extremely low profile, meaning it integrates seamlessly into garments, so neither style nor function has to be compromised.

New Jaguar XJ Supersport Diesel coming?
Sun, 30 May 2010The Jaguar XJ Supersport TDV8 - expect it in showrooms in 2011 We’ve known for quite a while that Jaguar Land Rover were going to start putting a new V8 diesel in to their cars. The 3.6 litre TDV8 which goes in the Land Rover is a very good lump (made by Ford at Dagenham) with some decent horses and a nice fat lump of torque. But the introduction by Jaguar of the 3.0 litre diesel and its subsequent introduction in to Land Rover’s cars meant the 3.6 litre’s days were numbered.
