Land Rover Freelander 2 hits 300,000 sales despite the Evoque

Thu, 03 May 2012

Land Rover Freelander 2 - 300k now sold Land Rover Freelander 2 - 300k now sold Land Rover has revealed that the 300,000th Freelander 2 has now been built despite an ageing model and the launch of the Evoque. It’s almost exactly two years since we reported that the Land Rover Freelander 2 had chalked up sales of 200,000 in its first three years (and 250k in March last year), and here we are two years later reporting sales hitting the 300,000 mark. Which is impressive.

Vygor Opera .2 – just as ugly as the first Vygor & €140k

Wed, 09 Nov 2011

Vygor Opera .2 - a second take on the new crossover from Italy Last month we reported on the Vygor Opera, a new ‘car’ from Italy which we thought looked like a cross between a 5-Series GT, Subaru and an X6, but after a dose of ugly pills. So when we got an email in to say there’s a second version of the Opera – catchily named the Vygor Opera.2 – we thought Vygor must have bucked up their ideas from the first Opera and employed someone with a proper Italian flair for design. No such luck.

Vauxhall Corsa gets a 2010 eco facelift

Thu, 19 Nov 2009

By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 19 November 2009 00:01 Blink and you'll miss it – but your accountant won't. The new 2010 model year Vauxhall Corsa has been nipped and tucked, tweaked and polished to produce an impressive average 13% fuel saving across the range.Five out of the six Corsa engines now produce less than 125g/km and the 2010 Corsa Ecoflex diesel now manages up to 76.3mpg (on the Government's not-especially-representative combined figures). How have they made the Corsas so much cleaner?Just good old-fashioned engine tuning, apparently. Most models also come with an eco gearshift indicator to guilt-trip drivers into shifting up at the earliest opportunity.Vauxhall claims it'll sell more sub-125g/km cars than any other model range in the UK in 2010; all manual gearbox Corsas will qualify for free tax discs from next spring when Britain's new VED rates come into force.Anything else new on the 2010 Corsa? It's not just fuel-saving, miser-making tips.
