Jaguar C-X75 concept (2010) diesel electric supercar

Fri, 01 Oct 2010

By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 01 October 2010 12:00 Jaguar delivered one of the surprises of the 2010 Paris motor show with the new C-X75 supercar concept car. The C-X75 is designed to showcase Jag’s new design direction now that the modern Ian Callum-led look has been rolled out across the Jag XF, XJ and XK sports cars. But the new Jaguar C-X75 (‘C’ for concept, ‘X’ for experimental, ’75’ to mark the brand’s 75th anniversary) is also a technological statement. The new Mazda MX-5 has been umveiled The Mazda MX-5 is the car we, the British, would still be making if we hadn’t forgotten how to make fun to drive and affordable roadsters for the common man. The new MX-5 has a new chassis, a pair of new SkyActiv petrol engines and manages to be lighter and smaller than the current MX-5 – which augers very well for its appeal and ability.

Tue, 02 Mar 2010

By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 02 March 2010 08:43 Seat's new IBE concept car provided the thrills on the Spanish firm's stand at the 2010 Geneva motor show. Although more about the tech than the design, the IBE does drop a few clues to the next Leon family. It's based on the running gear of the new Leon and packs a 75kW electric engine capable of daily use around town thanks to lithium ion batteries with 18kWh capacity. The IBE is a classic 2+2 shooting brake design and is teeny tiny; at 3780mm long, it's 10 inches shorter than an Ibiza supermini.Seat IBE concept car: the electrical gubbins The IBE packs an electric motor under bonnet driving the front wheels and fed by rear-mounted batteries.
