Dacia Duster SUV leads Dacia in to record-breaking first year UK sales
Sat, 18 Jan 2014The new Dacia Duster (pictured) should add to Dacia’s impressive sales We’ve all become aware that the car market in the UK has polarised, with mainstream makers struggling to keep their market share and premium and budget brands growing sales strongly. But despite that, no one really thought that Dacia – Renault’s budget brand – could create a significant market for itself with its “Shockingly Affordable” range of cars. But it has.
BMW i3 EV takes to the race track (video)
Sat, 14 Dec 2013BMW i3 EV takes to the race track (video) The BMW i3 EV City Car finally got revealed in July in production guise, and it’s a clever car if not exactly a looker. Sadly, the i3 hasn’t done particularly well in Euro NCAP tests but that hasn’t stopped orders for the i3 exceeding anything BMW could have reasonably expected.
New Jaguar XF R-Sport is the start of more R-Sport models from Jaguar
Wed, 26 Feb 2014The Jaguar XF R-Sport (pictured) adds sport looks to the saloon and Sportbrake The big news from Jaguar for the 2014 Geneva Motor Show is the arrival of a barnstorming XF Estate – the Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake – with its 542bhp supercharged V8. But also heading for Geneva is a more lowly XF that might not grab the headlines but will probably do more for Jaguar’s bottom line than the XFR-S – the new Jaguar XF R-Sport. Available as an XF saloon or XF Sportbrake, the XF R-Sport is Jaguar’s take on stuff like BMW M Sport and Mercedes AMG Line (but without any power or suspension tweaks) and is aimed at owners and drivers who want the sporty looks of cars like the XFR but want it powered by something more prosaic.
