Italian firm buys stake in Aston Martin
Fri, 07 Dec 2012The former owner of Italian motorcycle maker Ducati has bought a 37.5-percent stake in financially strapped British car maker Aston Martin. The move means future Astons could use modern drivelines and electric architectures from Mercedes-Benz's AMG division, insiders with knowledge of the deal suggest. Private equity fund Investindustrial has signed a memorandum of understanding with current Aston Martin owner Investment Dar of Kuwait that will see it pay $240 million (150 million pounds) for the ownership stake.

Wed, 20 Nov 2013Honda is calling the S660 a concept, but when company president Takanobu Ito took to the stage at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, one of the first things he did was confirm this exciting new small sports car – the spiritual successor to the Honda Beat – will be going into production in 2015. This is great news for Honda, and Ito-san acknowledged a next-generation small sports car has been long awaited by Honda fans, who’ve had little excitement to cheer about since the last Civic Type R and the S2000 roadster were stripped from the model line up. Stretching the tape measure to 7.4m long, it's as long as two regular Transit Tourneo models and has limo-style legroom for seven builders. There are a few more creature comforts than in most Transits, too: captain's armchairs with individual DVD screens and games consoles, and leather trim throughout.
