Bugatti won't build new car until Veyron is sold out

Bugatti executives told Bloomberg on Wednesday that the brand won't move forward with a new automobile until all of the remaining Veyrons have sold out. The French automaker built 300 original Bugatti coupes, followed by 150 various variants. The coupes sold out in 2011, but 40 convertibles are still for sale.

Petrol cars twice as likely to fail MOT on emissions

The latest MOT test data shows that 26.2% of all cars tested fail on excess exhaust emissions – and surprisingly petrol cars fail more than twice as often as diesels in this part of the annual roadworthiness test. According to the official Vehicle Operator and Standard Agency (VOSA) figures, which cover all of 2010 and the first nine months of 2011, 9.7% of petrol cars failed to meet MOT emissions standards compared to just 3.9% of diesels. Start-stop works by cutting the engine when the car’s stationary in traffic, and restarting automatically when you touch the pedals to move off again. Every manual transmission-equipped BMW 1-series comes with the technology, excepting the truly high performance versions.
