Now that the 2012 Scottsdale collector-car auctions in Arizona have come to a close, our friends at Hagerty Insurance have wrapped up all the numbers from the auctions in their latest edition of “Hagerty Classic Car TV.” In this episode, host Rob Sass, author Colin Comer and publisher Dave Kinney explore the 2012 sales figures and take a closer look at some of the more memorable vehicles, including a 1948 Tucker Torpedo and a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL alloy Gullwing. London to increase pedestrian crossing countdowns

MORE PEDESTRIAN crossings will get "how-long-have-I-got?" countdown signs as part of a new safety action plan for London's roads. The pedestrian countdowns will be extended to include around 10% of the capital's crossings, Transport for London (TfL) said. The plan also includes trials of innovative collision detection software on London buses this summer.

UK drivers disinterested in electric cars

DRIVERS in the UK are not interested in electric cars, with only 5% stating they would think about buying one, according to new research. A further 14% of drivers say they have considered an electric car but rejected and bought a petrol, diesel or hybrid car instead. More than half (56%) of British drivers said they had not even thought about an electric car as a possible replacement for their existing vehicle.
