Cadillac XTS 'choreographed' LED lighting explained [w/video]

The introduction of LED lighting into vehicle lamp graphics has seen manufacturers strive to create their own identifiable lighting signatures. Cadillac, for example, is looking to take this one step further with the introduction of LEDs throughout the XTS, rather than just within its light clusters. Designed to greet drivers through a choreographed sequence, 20 separate light sources begin their routine once the key fob is pressed.

Michelin Challenge Design - Deadline for entries April 16

You Can Design America's Next Iconic Vehicle Michelin Challenge Design - the global transportation design competition in its ninth year - is looking for America's next iconic vehicle.  Submissions for the 2009 program will be accepted through April 16, 2008. The winning designs will be evaluated for their uniqueness, emotional appeal, design courage and technical execution by a jury of automotive design professionals and receive prominent display in the MCD exhibit at the 2009 North American International Auto Show. And now we have the reveal of the first pictures from Cadillac of the 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe ahead of the official reveal at the Detroit Motor Show this month. No surprises in store – except perhaps just how good it looks – with its 6.2 litre, 556 bhp V8 almost defying resistance by hurtling the not inconsiderably-sized CTS-V Coupe to 60mph in 3.9 seconds.
