This is our first photo of the upcoming Mercedes-Benz SL400 luxury roadster, a model that effectively replaces the SL350 as part of a series of subtle changes brought to the SL lineup. The move aims to goose sales of the luxury roadster two years after it first hit showrooms. The SL400 is powered by Mercedes-Benz's twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 direct-injection gasoline engine unveiled in the E400 early last year.

The Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid will cost from 'Under £30k' Toyota has revealed that the Prius Plug-in will average 134.5mpg, emit 49g/km and cost under £35k in the UK. If you’re going to pay through the nose for a hybrid or electric car, probably the only route you should choose is a plug-in hybrid or a range-extender. And if you want to go the plug-in hybrid route you will now be able to get the Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid in the UK, and relieve the British taxpayer of £5k in the process.

Ford Australia designs Mad Max concepts

With the iconic road movie ‘Mad Max' set to reappear on the silver screen next year, the Australian International Motor Show played host to two Ford concepts aiming to be the next 'Interceptor'. Built in response to a brief from Top Gear Australia, Ford Australia's Research Centre employees created a variety of machines for Max. The entries, however, were whittled down to those from Nima Nourian and Simon Brook.
