Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid: Production underway
Mon, 19 Nov 2012The world’s first production plug-in diesel hybrid – the Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid – has gone in to production ahead of customer deliveries. Volvo are producing just 1,000 2013 V60 plug-ins, but are aiming to up production to between 4-6,000 a year from the 2014 model year and, despite the problems of integrating the V60′s complicated electric stuff in to a production car, the V60 plug-in is rolling down the same production line as the regular V60, V70, S80 and XC90. That complicated stuff includes two different powertrains and a battery pack – enough for up to 32 miles as an EV only – and a total of 300 additional parts compared to a regular ICE V60.
Toyota Sienna
Wed, 09 Dec 2009The all-new Toyota Sienna MPV made its debut at the 2009 LA Auto Show. The third generation Sienna follows its predecessors in being a fairly conventional full-size MPV as befitting its market aspirations, but introduces innovative functional interior design features and some unexpected panache to the exterior too. Read our opinions in our 2009 LA Auto Show Highlights and see more photos of the new Sienna below: Photo Gallery: Toyota Sienna
Jaguar F-Type Coupe pictures were actually the CX-16
Thu, 09 May 2013In fact, the photos we published turn out to be images Jaguar submitted to the European Patent office when the CX-16 Concept – the first view we had of the new F-Type – was being readied for its debut in 2011. Oh, well. But despite the images we ran turning out to be a bit of a red herring, there’s no doubt Jaguar will reveal an F-Type Coupe before too long, but not necessarily as soon as the ‘production’ patent images led us to think.
