Land Rover reveals rejigged Discovery at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show

Wed, 11 Sep 2013

Land Rover has revealed a surprisingly comprehensive facelift for the Discovery range here at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show – and the firm has underlined the changes with some new badging for the Discovery range. Instead of having ‘LAND ROVER’ on the bonnet, the new Discovery has, well, ‘DISCOVERY’ lettering. That’s because Land Rover wants to make Discovery into its own brand, a bit like Range Rover: here at Frankfurt 2013, we’re seeing the first steps in this rebranding.

2014 Skoda Octavia Scout revealed ahead of Geneva Motor Show debut

Tue, 11 Feb 2014

The 2014 Skoda Octavia Scout (pictured) debuts at Geneva A more rugged, pseudo off-road estate car is a sensible compromise for buyers looking for a bit more ruggedness than a regular estate car offers, but without going to a full-blow SUV or Crossover. So it makes a lot of sense for Skoda to go the ‘Allroad’ route with the Octavia Combi (estate) and give it a touch more rufty tufty and a new name – the Skoda Octavia Scout. The 2014 Octavia Scout has been revealed ahead of a debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month and comes with all the butch add-ons you’d expect.

Renault Twingo and Clio Grand Tour

By Ben Whitworth Motor Shows 08 March 2007 10:12 French but sans le funky look A busy show stand for Renault – as well as unveiling its new Twingo city car, the French manufacturer pulled the wraps off a thinly disguised version of its upcoming Clio estate to take on its Fabia and Peugeot 207 wagon rivals. After the funked up coolness of the Twingo concept car shown at the Paris Motor Show last year, we are more than a little underwhelmed by the production Twingo. Renault is keen to move away from the utilitarian look and feel of the original model – it will leave cheap and cheerful sales to the Clio Campus – and pitch the new model at sharper-suited rivals like the Mini.
