Slow, old, wrinkled and not very well bolted together (and that’s just the drivers), nothing to inspire the car lover, and certainly nothing to suggest it would be a good idea to try and sell a big Cadillac saloon in the UK. Just days after we finally got the MINI Coupe sans camouflage – and with a gazillion photos to go with it – MINI are already on to the next step of the marketing buzz – the MINI Coupe video. Actually, we had a choice fo two ways to go; either a pile of fairly dull bits in lowish resolution that came in without a soundtrack, or a buzzy little viral-aimed ‘MINI Coupe Adventure’.
Google continues autonomous car tests [w/video]
Mon, 02 Apr 2012Google is leading the charge towards the production of a fully autonomous car, releasing a video earlier this week of the car being tested on a programmed route. Steve Mahan, who is 95 per cent blind, successfully tested the car with Google engineers and a member of the local police close at hand should something go awry. Google kitted out a Toyota Prius with its software, taking the shape of a spinning cylinder on the car's roof, which senses traffic or activity close to the car and automatically adapts to its situation.
