Westport, Massachusetts, United States
this left side frame unit is in good condition with the exception of one small area of rust as shown on one of the round tube surfaces in photos
Brand:Jaguar Placement on Vehicle:Right

Here is a used left side frame section for an E type.  I had been collecting a lot of parts for a Jaguar based project car, but with too many other ongoing projects, have now decided to resell the collected Jaguar parts...

On this unit, one area of the main square tubing has the primer paint sanded off and an accompanying note explains that: "this area was stripped and blasted, showing no repairs done."  "Have also marked the areas that you should touchup."  In one picture it shows the primer sanded off one area to show that it is good and that this is where they brake and states that it is original and that "no repairs have been done"...  One of the area that marked as needing to be "touched up" is a section of the round tubing where there is a small amount of rust which needs to be felt with...  I have heard that these frame pieces are brazed when constructed and that they should not be welded when they are repaired, as the heat from welding can take the tension strength out of the unit...

Hope someone can use this piece.  Good luck with your project and dreams...

Hamilton clairifies Vettel comments

Tue, 08 Oct 2013

LEWIS HAMILTON has been forced to clarify comments after suggesting Sebastian Vettel was boring Formula One fans. Hamilton voiced his frustration in the wake of Sunday's Korean Grand Prix as Vettel won his fourth successive race to stretch his championship lead over Fernando Alonso to 77 points. With Vettel now on the brink of his fourth consecutive world title ahead of this weekend's race in Japan, Hamilton likened the 26-year-old's domination to that of Michael Schumacher a decade ago.

U.S. is seeking a record $16.4 million fine against Toyota

Mon, 05 Apr 2010

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is seeking a historic $16.4 million civil penalty against Toyota for failing to notify the agency in a timely fashion of a throttle problem that could cause unintended acceleration, Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said on Monday. The amount is the maximum penalty and would be the most NHTSA has levied against an automaker. The agency said Toyota waited at least four months to alert it of the potential pedal problem.
