Condition:Used

This is a used Moss transmission from a 1957 Mark 1 Jaguar that I parted out about 8 years ago.  Car was running and driving when I purchased it but the interior and exterior were too far gone for an economical restoration.

Shifts through the gears, and has its solenoid.  Offered as-is, since i do not know the condition of the internals or the OD unit.

This will be shipped motor freight at the purchaser's expense.  I will deliver it to Pak Mail in Battle creek where it will be banded to a pallet and forwarded by a shipper to be determined by Pak Mail and the buyer. I have shipped many heavy and difficult items via this method, including an XK150 transmission to Pakistan, and Norton 500 engine and tranmission to Indonesia, these guys know what they are doing.

Local pickup is welcomed, also.

In pictures: backstage at 72nd Goodwood Members’ Meeting

Mon, 31 Mar 2014

It was Glorious Goodwood on the last weekend of March, for Lord March’s latest classic motorsport event – the 72nd Goodwood Members’ Meeting. It’s one of only two race weekend to be held at the circuit since it reopened in the late 1990s: Lord March wants it to complement the world-famous September Goodwood Revival and become known as a classic in its own right. The difference here is that, as its name suggests, it’s a members-only event: only Goodwood Road Racing Club members can buy tickets.

TAKE ONE Skoda Citigo, chop its roof off, install some neon lighting under the chassis and you get the Skoda apprentices’ dream car, apparently. The CitiJet is the madcap brainchild of 16 budding Skoda designers, who were tasked with creating their ideal car out of an existing Skoda model. Effectively, a Citigo Sport has been turned into an open-top city slicker, but don’t ask how the roof closes because there isn’t one.

BMW Group unveils in-car G-force and tea-drinking engine

Tue, 01 Apr 2014

BMW AND Mini have today unveiled pioneering new technologies that produce artificial G-force and even let an engine run on tea leaves. BMW has revealed plans for a system called Force Injection Booster (FIB), which when activated fires artificial gravity at the driver and passenger through the air conditioning vents. But the style-conscious needn’t worry, because the German firm has also patented AirNet, the world’s first in-car hair protection technology.
