This ad is for  is a quality copy of a Jaguar MK2 restoration guide book, published by Practical Classics and Car restorer, around 1990. This English  magazine is now out of business, and I believe  the book is out of print. It is copied from the original I personally used as a guide. (Pictures show my original; I will send you a copy; punched for a 3 ring binder). It is absolutely the best guide I have seen,to restore a MKII. Often someone buys a MK2, or similar saloon, sends it out to a paint shop spends several thousand dollars to discover they had no idea what they were doing; then spends Many thousands more for an Expert to re- restore it correctly. This book will prevent that, and is designed for the do it yourself or professional restorer. It covers all mechanical operations;engine, brakes, front and rear suspensions, as well as metalwork. Note, I also have many other parts books , shop manuals, and  British parts on my eBay store, Old English Motor Company; listed in 20 categories, including Books, Literature,Art, and I have  many thousands more in the warehouse; All English cars 1949-1994. I never threw anything away, as I   acquired for my restoration shop. Phone is 1954JAGUARS (1 954 524 8277), or cell  1954JAGPART  (1 954 524 7278) .SHIPPING; rate given in the US is Priority Envelope; or out of the country by Priority  Mail Envelope......Thank you, James Dean  thejaguru

Lord Charles March takes the 2013 Aston Martin Vanquish up the Goodwood Hillcimb (video)

Sat, 06 Apr 2013

Lord Charles March – he of the Goodwood Festival of Speed – takes the 2013 Aston Martin Vanquish up the Goodwood hillclimb. The Hillclimb is a 1.16 mile road course, starting at the bottom corner of the Goodwood Estate where you take off on a tree-lined avenue before sweeping right and up past the main house before you enter a steep and narrow estate road, past unforgiving flint walls and woodland, before ending up by Goodwood’s racecourse at the top of the South Downs. It’s a thrilling run in almost any car (yes, we’ve been privileged to do it more than once) and now, with the ‘Moving Motor Show’ part of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, many more are getting the chance to try the hillclimb in car makers’ latest offerings - admittedly not usually at full tilt.

By using a longer and wider body, the five-door is able to offer 72mm more legroom for rear passengers, who can also now access the new row of three seats via small but useful rear doors. Boot space is up to 278 litres, which although still comparatively low is 67 more than the three-door hatch can boast.
