New Nissan Juke hits the spotlight at Geneva motor show
Tue, 04 Mar 2014We first saw the Juke three years ago and it opened up a class of vehicles we didn’t really know existed—the frumpy compact crossover segment. Nissan unveiled its new Juke at the Genvea motor show on Tuesday, showing off its quirky and updated design to the public. The Juke has been a strong competitor in the compact crossover market, selling 420,000 in those three years.
Hyundai ix20
Thu, 16 Sep 2010Hyundai has revealed the first images of its new ix20, a new B-segment MPV that will join the Korean automaker's product range in Europe later this year. Following on from the ix35, the ix20 is the second European car to adopt Hyundai's new 'fluidic sculpture' design language. The new car, which will make its official debut at the Paris motor show, has been designed and developed at Hyundai's European R&D center in Rüsselsheim, Germany, under the direction of Thomas Buerkle. The car's name is said to reflect the new model's crossover-like versatility, which combines functionality with sportier driving dynamics. Hyundai claims the ix20 aims to steer away from the boxy minivan image typically associated with the segment and appeal to buyers with young families.
Ford engine plant builds number 10 million
Wed, 18 Feb 2009Ford's 90-degree, overhead-cam Modular V8 has covered a wide spectrum since it was introduced in 1991--powering luxury cars, SUVs, pickups and high-performance sports cars. A large number of those engines have come from a Ford plant in Romeo, Mich., which has now built its 10-millionth engine--a 4.6-liter V8 that is headed for a 2010 Mustang GT. The Romeo engine plant was converted from a tractor factory.
