Skoda MissionL Concept revealed – the Skoda Lauretta, perhaps?
Mon, 05 Sep 2011Skoda MissionL Concept - destined to be the Skoda Lauretta Skoda is on a mission to push its sales through the roof in the next year or seven – aiming for 1.5 million sales, no less, by 2018 – and part of that strategy is to fill the gap in its range between the Fabia and Octavia. Back in November the world’s largest Lamborghini dealership – Lamborghini Orange County – turned up its toes and closed the doors, apparently a victim of the downturn in car sales. Not the oddest story in these times admittedly, but a bit odd when you consider that Lamborghini OC was reckoned to be responsible for 10% of Lamborghini’s sales worldwide, shifting around 240 cars a year.

But this document puts up some real detail, and pictures of the sad decline of a once successful (particularly in the U.S.) supercar maker. De Tomaso was, for a time, a great blend of Italian style and American muscle, but it lost its way badly many years ago and, despite a few attempts to resurrect it, De Tomaso has been off the scene for a long time now.
