KTM halts production of the X-Bow two-seater as inventory grows

With sales well below expectations and 80 units reportedly unsold, Austrian motorcycle company KTM has temporarily halted production of the ultralight X-Bow two-seat sports car. KTM officials originally expected sales of 1,000 units a year. But that lofty goal is being scaled back to between 200 and 300 units a year.

Chinese car maker BYD are using revolutionary battery technology in the BYD E6 The biggest problem with electric cars (or one of them, at least) is that the battery technology is not really up to the ambitions of car makers. Tellingly, a Toyota tecchy referred to the science behind the Chevvy Volt as ‘Vaporware’, and the whole project is founded on the expectation that the technolgy will develop quickly enough to make the car a reality.

Volkswagen Are Rally Champs For Second Year Running

ANOTHER year, another title – that’s the news from down under as Volkswagen has secured the World Rally Manufacturers’ Championship for the second year running after a clean sweep at the Rally Australia round. After a tense battle over the weekend, with Brit Kris Meeke leading for Citroen at one point, Volkswagen eventually took all three podium steps as Sebastien Ogier lead from teammate Jari-Matti Latvala with Andreas Mikkelsen coming in third. With only three rallies remaining this season, Volkswagen can no longer be caught at the top of the overall standings.
