Faurecia opens new Shanghai Technical Center

Faurecia has opened a new technical center in Shanghai, China, which will also serve as its Chinese headquarters. The automotive equipment supplier wants to reinforce its research and development capabilities and engineering localization in the world's largest automotive market. The new 18,000 square meter Faurecia China Tech Center is made up of the Training Center and the Tech Center, which includes an industrial design facility, two showrooms and various prototype workshops alongside five labs for testing, acoustics, airbag, complete seat and quality inspection.

KoenigSaab coming soon?

Koenigsegg are in the running to take over Saab Saab were given Swedish Government protection recently (similar to Chapter 11) to try and find a suitor or funding to operate independently. Of course they can’t do that completely, at least not in the short term, as they are so tied in to GM’s platforms on their current and soon to be released cars. When a father-and-son restoration team discovered the unassuming DB 2/4 Mk I Vantage collecting dust they had no idea of its potential significance. As they began to peel back the layers they uncovered a set of unique modifications, similar to those in the fictional Bond car, including reinforced steel bumpers, concealed lockers, heavy-duty anti-interference ignition system, and connections for a two-way radio or homing device.
