GOVERNMENT PLANS to possibly ban CCTV parking cameras will put schoolchildren at risk, council leaders and head teachers have warned. Councils use CCTV enforcement vehicles to tackle dangerous and illegal parking outside schools including cars blocking driveways, driving along pavements and stopping on yellow zig-zag lines outside school gates. CYCLISTS have been warned to take precautions to make themselves easier to see, in time for the darker evenings of winter time. The clocks are set to wind back by an hour this Sunday, bringing darkness down on homeward commutes and making collisions involving cyclists statistically more likely.
