Sci-fi Audi from Ender’s Game movie revealed

It’s an Audi, Jim, but not as we know it – this sleek, ground-hugging machine is a four-ringed future mobile from the forthcoming blockbuster science-fiction movie, Ender’s Game. It’s called the Audi Fleet Shuttle Quattro, and – like the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band’s ‘Urban Spaceman’ – here comes the twist: it doesn’t actually exist. Donkey Kong Derby Car wins IDSA Launch Day 2013 competition

Product design consultancy Priority Design's ‘Donkey Kong Derby Car' was the winner of the IDSA Launch Day 2013 competition, earning its team a brand-new 3D printer. The Launch Day competition, which took place at the Industrial Design Society of America conference on 24 August, asked for designs for a tiny 3D-printed car that could be launched down a miniature model of a ski jump before smashing into a crash site. Featuring Mario and Princess from the classic Nintendo series in glorious 32-bit form, the Donkey Kong Derby Car – car being a very loose term, as it has no wheels – was, in fact, a barrel.

Australian Automotive Industry Design Night announced

The Australian Auto Industry Design Night is set to take place on 28 June despite the surprise cancellation of the Melbourne motor show. Traditionally held on the first day of the show, this year's Auto Industry Design Night will be held at Gasolina, South Wharf, Melbourne. Gasolina is a concept created by two friends Dean Johnson and Carl Cerra, who is also an industrial designer/clay modeler and has also worked throughout Europe, you can check it out here.
