Nürburgring sold for £83m to German auto tech group (2014)
Wed, 12 Mar 2014By Ollie Kew Motor Industry 12 March 2014 11:00 The Nürburgring racetrack in Germany has been sold to German automotive and aerospace technology conglomerate, Capricorn Group, for a figure in excess of €100m (£83m), it has been announced. The Capricorn bid narrowly beat a rival offer from HIG Europe by virtue of its ‘higher purchase price and good prospects for the region’. For now, it’s business as usual.
McLaren’s Jenson Button & Lewis Hamilton get animated
Wed, 11 Jul 2012McLaren has teamed up with Framestore to produce a series of animated – and amusing – cartoons showing on Sky F1. Somehow, despite having the British Grand Prix in one window and the Andy Murray match at Wimbledon in another on Sunday, we managed to miss this cartoon featuring McLaren, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button on Sky F1. It seems Sky F1 will be featuring a new cartoon from McLaren at every Grand Prix for the rest of the season, and if they are up to this standard they’ll be well worth looking forward to.
New 2013 Bentley Continental Flying Spur arrives early
Tue, 19 Feb 2013The new Bentley Continental Flying Spur Speed has arrived early, ahead of a reveal at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. Just as we hoped, Bentley had made the new Flying Spur more visually appealing with a look that shows echoes not just of the latest Continental GT but of the range-topping Mulsanne too. The redesign of the exterior brings a more focused, sharper look to Bentley’s Flying Spur and addresses about the only real moan we had of the old Flying Spur – the shape of the rear end.
